Kortnye S. Parker

Hi! My name is Kortnye Parker. I am currently pursuing my Master of Library and Information Studies degree at Old Dominion University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a professional background in military and federal service, where I developed strong interests in research, organization, information systems, and public service. I currently also work within education as a substitute teacher.

My interests within library and information studies include digital archives, metadata, digital preservation, special collections, and equitable access to information. I am especially drawn to the preservation of memory, storytelling, and historical records across both physical and digital spaces.

In addition to my professional and educational goals, I am also an aspiring author with a passion for storytelling, worldbuilding, and dark academia-inspired narratives.

This portfolio serves as a record of my work, projects, and growth throughout the MLIS program at ODU and beyond.
